Presentation Description:

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University collaborated with The Monday Campaigns team to use the DeStress Monday (DSM) practices  to design  a stress management intervention for teachers in Baltimore City Public Schools. The DSM program provided a weekly e-newsletter, graphic tips and practices, and prescriptive web content to the teachers. The researchers tested how weekly communications from DSM could help teachers start every week with a positive frame of mind, and bring some of the stress management techniques into the classroom setting. The results of the DeStress Monday teachers’ study showed that the DSM materials benefited teachers by increasing their understanding of stress management concepts leading to reported reduced stress indicators. Teachers involved with the program had a positive reception to the Monday-focused messaging and the web-friendliness of the content.
